How the ABC Junior Show Got Started

The ABC Summer Bonanza Junior Show was started by Mr. David Eigenbrode and Dr. Raymond Ediger under the name ABC Summer Bonanza Jackpot Show.  The show was held on June 12, 1999 at the Howard County Fairgrounds in West Friendship, MD.  This was the first Jackpot Show ever held in the state of Maryland.

The show was very successful with 164 head of top quality cattle from seven states.  It was Mr. Eigenbrode’s vision for Juniors to be able to show their cattle and his vision was brought to life during this show.  ABC is proud to continue Mr. Eigenbrode’s vision by further expanding the ABC show year after year.

After 15 years, ABC finally outgrew Howard County Fairgrounds and moved the show in 2014 to its new location at the Maryland State Fairgrounds.  The 2019 show will be the sixth show at Maryland State Fairgrounds and will be a 2 day event.
